Calming the Nervous System: Tools for Creating Balance and Peace of Mind
Life itself can be very disorienting, however, this year our lives have been especially unsettling. Many of us may be feeling overwhelmed with the various challenges facing the world today. It can be difficult not to exist in an overstressed, near-continuous state of “fight-or-flight,” which adversely affects our moods, sleep cycles, cardiovascular, digestive and especially our immune systems.
In this series, we will gain a practical understanding of the physiology of stress and how it affects our overall health and vitality. Join us to experience effective coping strategies that counteract an overactive sympathetic nervous system and boost the “relaxation response” to create sustaining balance. Come learn how to:
Develop a personal toolbox of skills to elevate your mood, decrease cortisol and increase physical and psychological well-being.
Put the solution back in your hands and embrace your birthright to be relaxed and centered without changing anything in the external world!
