Are you an artist and have the desire to write a screenplay but find that most approaches rob you of the art and feel like an algorithm meant to hack a system?
Art cannot be planned. Great works require a surrender. Yet a screenplay is a beast and often times, complete surrender can leave you with 150 pages that you're not sure what to do with. This is why we've created a new workshop just for you.
This is 8 weeks of assisted self-discovery providing a few boundaries and allowing your artistry to go wild. So at the end of 8 weeks you will have a beautiful first draft that has within it the story, structure, and DNA needed to rewrite a beautiful professional final draft.
Come in with nothing - or just an idea - or even a few pages or sequences written - and walk away with a new script.
Learn an approach to structure that doesn't strangle your creativity or create paint by number scripts that the world has already seen.
Be in a group of like-minded artists who are dissatisfied with the status quo and want to change our culture and the industry one script at a time.
This is an approach focused on using your unique artistry and voice to create a great screenplay - not an average screenplay.
This is a live class, not just a bunch of videos. You will have access to Jess and be able to get the assistance you need every week.
NOTE: We will be focusing on the process of a first draft, we will not be looking at pages and discussing rewriting. If you want to work on rewriting, we suggest the Alchemy workshop or Mentorship.
