Drawing for Total Beginners

Master the fundamental principles of visual art in this comprehensive drawing course designed to build your confidence and skills. In this class, you will explore essential techniques including composition, perspective, shading, and materials. If drawing feels intimidating, fear not, as this course breaks down the basic shapes required to depict objects, spaces, and figures. Once you establish proficiency with foundational shapes, you can advance to more complex and sophisticated imagery.

Class structure and format:

• The course consists of 5 lessons total
• Registration for a single class does not guarantee enrollment in all five sessions, so plan accordingly

Materials you will need:

Bring a drawing pad measuring 9x11 inches, 10x12 inches, or 11x14 inches with a minimum weight of 60 pounds to the first class session. You will also need an 8x10-inch hardcover sketchbook or slightly larger. Specific details about pencils, erasers, and other supplies will be provided during the first class meeting.
