Prepare yourself to write a feature-length screenplay through this foundational seminar.

Note: This class emphasizes lecture-based instruction with a focus on principles and fundamentals. Student work will not receive individual feedback during this course.

Have you dreamed of writing for the big screen, but felt unsure about where to begin your journey? Look no further. Renowned Screenwriter Chris Reed, a veteran of the entertainment industry who has written for major studios including Disney, Fox, Sony, and Nickelodeon, will provide you with the essential foundation needed to launch your screenwriting career. Notably, he authored the original screenplay "Jaguar" that eventually evolved into the beloved film "The Lion King" while working on an exclusive three-picture development deal at Disney Feature Animation.

During this intensive one-day Online Screenwriting Fundamentals Seminar, Chris will guide you through a comprehensive exploration of film genres and the various types of movies you can write, break down the structural elements that make movies successful, and teach you what transforms characters from ordinary to compelling. He'll emphasize how strong character development should influence and shape every single aspect of your narrative. Whether you already have a movie concept percolating in your creative mind or you need guidance on generating original ideas with genuine impact, this class serves as your essential first step toward building a thriving screenwriting career.

Mastering the fundamentals of effective screenwriting before you begin writing will save you considerable time, frustration, and emotional investment. Upon completing this course, you'll depart with a solid, well-established foundation upon which to construct and advance your screenwriting career. The Academy Award remains optional.
