Mixed Media Painting Workshop

Unleash your imagination and expand your artistic boundaries by merging various media and materials into a cohesive painting experience.

This course employs paint, collage techniques, stamping, and a range of drawing tools to produce layers of sophisticated work that balance composition with spontaneity.

Through demonstrations, exposure to inspiring artists, and personalized instruction from your instructor, you will discover new techniques and styles. Participants will cultivate technical proficiency as well as develop their distinctive creative voice.

Recommended Supplies:

• A range of PAPERS from diverse sources (recycled book pages, past artwork, children's creations, correspondence, and more)
• Acrylic paint colors (including black, white, and several color options)
• Fluid Matte Medium OR soft gel medium
• Brushes in multiple widths, along with a wide bristle chip brush
• Plastic scraper tool (or repurposed credit cards)
• Two 10" x 10" cradled wood panels or masonite boards
• Cutting tools: scissors or craft knife
• Permanent black marker or permanent marker pen

Optional Supplies for Added Texture and Effects:

• stencils for pattern creation
• rubber or foam stamps
• paint pens or acrylic-based markers
• spackling or texture paste
• abrasive materials: 100 or 120 grit sandpaper
• mixed media items for mark-making and texture: metal implements, textured fabric, corrugated materials, metal foil, wooden dowels, and other found objects that create interesting surfaces and patterns
