Description

This entry-level jewelry making class offers students the basic techniques and building blocks of metalsmithing. This exciting three day class teaches the same curriculum as taught in our regular 8 week semesters. During the three-day intensive, you will create four projects in sterling silver, crafted like a professional metalsmith. You’ll learn layout, sawing, forging, texturing, filing, polishing, soldering, and basic stone setting, including the correct way to build a heavy bezel setting (never with wire) and setting your stone with a hammer and bunch.

Students learn the proper tool techniques and safety practices, allowing you to express yourself and your creativity through metal. Each session you’ll learn about more tools and techniques and be introduced to the tools and resources in a modern goldsmithing studio.

Students should not wear loose clothing and should be able to tie their hair back. Students should arrive with packed lunch.

Refund Policy

Refund less 5% cancellation fee will be issued if cancellation notice is received 6 business days prior to the start of reserved class.
Full credit will apply for (1) year if cancellation is received less than 6 business days prior to the start of reserved class.

In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non refundable registration fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
