Pickleball

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States today. Here's why: the rules are straightforward and easy to understand. And while beginners can pick up the basics quickly, the game rapidly develops into a fast-paced, competitive challenge as players build their skills. Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, pickleball is played using paddles and a plastic ball on a tennis court with a slightly modified net setup.

Once you play a game or two, you'll be hooked. In this class you'll be introduced to the history and rules of pickleball while learning fundamental pickleball skills such as forehand and backhand groundstrokes, serves, dinks, overhead shots, and volley shots. You'll also gain an understanding of game strategy for both singles and doubles play through active class play and practice scenarios.

This will be a fun and collaborative learning experience featuring hands-on instruction throughout. You must bring your own equipment: students must come to class with their own pickleball paddle and ball that are appropriate for outdoor play.

Students under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian complete a Release and Medical Consent form.
