We are pleased to partner with JB Casting Network for this workshop that offers the tools actors need to succeed in the audition. Learn to develop your craft and art while establishing relationships with the industry’s top casting directors and associates. Gain the invaluable opportunity of training with working industry professionals and Hollywood’s decision makers.
This casting workshop is designed to equip novice and experienced actors with the tools to “cold read” masterfully and to educate the student actor on the audition process. Actors will have 10-15 minutes before their performance to read over their script and prepare.
Workshop topics include, but is not limited to:
- What casting directors look for in an audition.
- How to quickly prepare and perform a scene and make strong and compelling choices.
- How to establish a rapport with a casting office and “book the office,” versus just “booking the job.”
- How to present yourself professionally in the audition room.
JB Casting Networks is a certified non-profit running weekly casting workshops with the industry’s top casting directors and associates. JBCN offers the tools actors need to succeed–the ability to run your career as a business while developing your art. Establishing relationships with casting directors, learning what each one looks for in an audition, getting to work in front of Hollywood’s decision makers–these are invaluable opportunities we offer. JBCN also runs monthly agent/manager showcases in Hollywood, featuring offices that represent established and up-and-coming talent.
For actors new to our workshops:
- You will not need to prepare material in advance. Sides will be distributed to you upon check-in at the workshop.
- Depending on the casting director's preference, you may be paired with another actor to perform a scene or may act with the casting director.
- Bring your headshot and acting resume.
Disclaimer: This is not a job interview or audition. The presence of a casting director is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. The intent of the class is solely educational. Attending a workshop is not a way to obtain employment as an actor. Such contact as you may have with a casting director at a workshop rarely results in any further contact with that casting director or any company affiliated with that casting director.
