Bodi Botanica

Rachel has always been fascinated by scent—especially the strange, sometimes “gross” materials that make up the backbone of perfumery (like the anal secretions of a male musk deer!). She started perfuming as a hobby, drawn in by the history and complexity of it all, but eventually got sucked into taking class after class. After graduating from the professional-level workshop at The Perfumer’s Studio in Hollywood, she launched Bodi Botanica—a small perfume studio rooted in the foothills of Altadena.

She loves teaching because it’s collaborative, playful, and full of surprises. She is also always learning. Watching someone blend scents she would never have thought to—or get totally obsessed with a material they never expected to love—is a blast. Her workshops are about exploration and self-expression. You don’t need any experience, just curiosity and a nose. Since launching Bodi Botanica, she has been teaching small-group perfuming workshops with a focus on fun! She's also developed custom scents for a variety of customers. Her goal is to demystify perfume and invite more people into the wild, weird, and wonderful world of scent.
