Class Description

Description

Discover why "low intervention" winemaking has become such a compelling topic among sommeliers, winemakers, and wine enthusiasts worldwide. This comprehensive exploration examines what defines Natural Wine and explores what distinguishes it from other categories, including Sustainable, Organic, and Biodynamic wines. The course also covers the unique characteristics of Pet Nats and Orange Wines, sometimes referred to as Amber Wines or Skin Contact Whites, and clarifies how these diverse styles relate to one another.

Throughout this educational experience, you will learn about the largely unregulated Natural Wine category and discover the common characteristics that unite many of these wines. The course explores the historical origins of all winemaking and traces when and where renewed interest in these traditional techniques emerged and took hold globally. As your understanding grows across different categories and their numerous offshoots, you will taste a diverse selection of Natural Wine styles from wine-producing regions around the world, sampling various grape varieties and expressions.

This class is particularly valuable for natural wine enthusiasts and is essential for wine professionals and those preparing for certification examinations. Your registration fee includes a blind tasting of six wines, allowing you to develop your palate while experiencing different styles firsthand.
