Class Description

Description

Most people associate Riesling exclusively with sweeter wines, but this remarkable varietal offers far more complexity and range than this single impression suggests. Riesling flourishes in cool-climate regions and develops with remarkable grace over decades of aging. However, the majority of wine drinkers encounter only the sweeter, simpler bottlings. In truth, Riesling production spans diverse styles and presentations, from still wines to effervescent sparkling versions, and flavor profiles ranging from bone-dry expressions to luscious dessert wines.

Throughout this class, you'll study the grape's historical origins, trace how it developed in different winemaking regions, and understand its defining characteristics. A professionally guided tasting of six distinct wines will demonstrate how climate conditions, soil composition, and regional winemaking traditions all influence Riesling's final expression. You'll uncover fundamental similarities connecting wines from different producers and regions while appreciating what makes each one unique.

Perfect for longtime Riesling enthusiasts and anyone committed to expanding their wine knowledge and tasting proficiency, this class delivers genuine educational value and practical experience.
