Class Description

Description

Discover how climate zones affect grape development and resulting wine character across some of the world's most distinguished wine-producing regions.

Learn all about wines originating from moderate climate areas globally. At an imaginary elevation of 10,000 feet, we'll analyze international climate patterns and their impact on wine development, traveling across regions by experiencing wines from different areas. We'll avoid the extremes of very cold or very hot climates and instead focus on the middle zones, sampling both white and red varieties from the central French wine country, central Italian vineyards, northern Spanish wine regions, and California's renowned wine districts.

Your guided wine tasting will include six to eight selections, emphasizing comparison between traditional Old World styles and newer New World examples, including premier varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, and Sangiovese.
