Class Description

Description

Learn the fundamentals of leatherwork in this two and half hour class. You'll cut, edge, stamp, and rivet your way through all the steps in making a high-quality custom leather belt that you will be showing off for decades to come.

Important Notes:

  • Vaccination is REQUIRED for all classes. There are no exceptions to this.
  • You must print and sign this waiver form, one per participant, prior to the class

What to wear and bring:

  • You MUST wear a mask to and from the shop - ideally a respirator. As soon as you arrive please sanitize or wash your hands - we will then review other safety protocols in person. If you do not feel well play it safe and stay home!
  • Only wear natural fiber clothing, no synthetics or blends. Jeans and leather shoes are a requirement. I recommend bringing a T-shirt and a long sleeve shirt. Make sure your pant cuffs go over the tops of your shoes, and there are no holes in any of your clothing.
  • Wear only clothing that you can part with, for it may be destroyed. You will not get to forge if you do not follow these rules.
  • If you have your own respirator please bring it, otherwise you will be supplied with one (that you will be responsible for bringing to and from class).
  • When transporting knives please use a knife roll/case, or tightly wrap it in a towel, and make sure to put a small luggage lock on your bag.

  • 3 business days notice of class absence is required. A $75 fee is applied per each day missed.
  • Each student is allotted one free rescheduled dates per Small, Medium, Large, or Sword project.

  • Belt Making Class

Had the most incredible time! The teacher was extremely knowledgable and I got to learn about all the steps in depth and had the teacher's whole attention to pep talk me through each step. Got to dye the leather and stamp a design! A much more rewarding experience than slapping together some metal and leather. If you're looking for leather or metal working classes go to Nazz Forge you won't regret it!!
  • Belt Making Class

I loved the extensive training on dyeing the leather belt. I've taken other leather working class and they usually concentrate on the cutting, gluing/stitching. But honestly, the color is often the most important part. The difference between a commercial product and something that looks like you made it yourself is often the dye. If you want to experience the dyeing process, this is the class to take.
