Interested in exploring Ethiopian cuisine but uncertain how to begin? This interactive cooking class in Ossining demystifies Ethiopian food and its distinctive spices. The course begins with creating a Berbere spice blend from individual components, learning to combine aromatic spices sourced from around the world. Under expert instruction, you will master how to incorporate these spices into authentic Ethiopian vegetarian dishes, using a triple aromatic purée to achieve genuine depth of flavor.
No Ethiopian dining experience is complete without Injera, the traditional fermented flatbread that serves as both plate and utensil. Participants gain understanding of the fermentation process and practice baking fresh Injera to accompany the meal. Upon completing the class, you will enjoy a nourishing and delicious meal created entirely by your own hands.
This hands-on culinary experience works excellently as a unique date night activity, offering an interactive and intimate approach to culinary exploration. Partners can share the cooking process, experiment with diverse spices, and develop an appreciation for this rich cultural food tradition through collaborative preparation.
