Great class! The teachers were knowledgable and inspiring. The class had a very collaborative atmosphere and I learned a lot from the other participants. I am very motivated to bring what I learned about poetry to my classroom and to continue to write poems on my own. -

120-Hour Combined Course
Thank you for your course. It was thorough, enlightening, and packed with meaningful and useful information. I hadn't been in a classroom environment in almost 18 years, so I was a bit nervous how I'd respond to it after all these years. But yours was a truly wonderful experience and I felt comfortable and engaged through all of it. -
120-Hour Combined Course
Never judge a book by its cover! When I first saw the small room we were in, I thought this would be a program that just pushes students through and hands them a certificate without the students really learning anything. Boy was I wrong. This has been a month filled with invaluable information that will be useful to me until the day I retire. The small room I was concerned about turned out to be an advantage as it allowed for a family like atmosphere and individual attention. Ms. Cornejo is extremely knowledgable and you can be confident in the fact that you will be learning from someone with years of experience. I've always had my fears about teaching English but after taking this course, I'm happy to say that most of them are gone now. -
120-Hour On-Site TEFL/TESOL Certification
My experience with TESOL certification and advice to the future generations The TESOL course has helped me grow professionally and personally. I took the four-week, intensive 120-hour program in New York. This course is designed for both people who already have teaching experience and want to upgrade their knowledge and for people with little or no experience with English language teaching who want to switch their career path and turn to teaching. It is a demanding course, but it is really worth it. The staff at the Institute is fully committed and works hard towards helping their students (future teachers) with their daily assignments and lesson plans, observation of their classes and professional advice on where to focus their attention as well as how to handle the classroom by acquiring classroom management knowledge that the teacher needs to have before he/she enters the classroom. They focus on helping their students in learning how to teach communication skills and how to evaluate their students continuously. One of the most helpful things that you can bring to TESOL is the ability to take on board what you have learned. You will be given a lot of information. If you can put all that knowledge into practice, you will become an excellent teacher. This is not everything. The trainers are committed to helping their trainee teachers to build their teaching career by giving directions which include help with writing their CV, job interview preparation as well as with actual school leads. I was lucky to be one of their students. This experience and their constant support encouraged me to apply for jobs abroad and to experience something different, something outside the box. So starting this year, I will be teaching in Turkey. After they learned that I have TESOL certification, they offered me a teaching position immediately. I eventually chose Turkey; however, with the type of TESOL program I completed (with teaching practice), I got job offers from Paris, Spain and Morocco. Thank you TESOL!!! - -
120-Hour On-Site TEFL/TESOL Certification
Even as time passes, I still use what I learned in our TEFL certification course almost daily in my classroom. I haven't left the country yet, I am teaching ESL in New York. I registered for the TEFL course in order to be a better teacher to all those immigrants whose life I personally impact with my work as a teacher. And I understand that this is only possible if I have the proper qualification. The best thing about this course was its practical approach to teaching. I believe that the focus on meaningful context and the objectives we set for each class distinguishes me now from teachers I met later on who did not have a comparable training. The number of practice teaching hours for each participating trainee also set this course apart from other similar certificate courses. The amount of teaching hours had me feel extremely comfortable with EFL students as I walked into the classroom towards the end of the course. The daily feedback of my peers and the trainers helped me advance rapidly towards higher levels of performance during my instructional practices. The trainers, by the way, were excellent coaches. Their support, dedication to teaching, and true interest in my personal progress deserve my deepest respect. ITTI's course is accredited internationally and is respected by schools worldwide. -
120-Hour On-Site TEFL/TESOL Certification
I had been teaching immigrant students informally for sometime before I realized this is what I wanted to do. I wanted people to progress and the world to be able to communicate in order to solve its problems. This is when I took the 120-Hour On-Site TEFL Certification course that opened a whole new world of possibilities for me. Being able to practice with real students in a real-time classroom was truly priceless. The dedicated mentor was also an asset, guiding me every step of the way. I learned many strategies for making the learning experience more natural and fun. I also realized how much I would have missed out on implementing if I had not taken the course. Every day that I teach students now, I know exactly how to achieve what was once only a thought. Because of TEFL I am able to see the gaps and fill them in. I am so glad I have all these opportunities of bettering not only my own future but others too. The TEFL certification and my experience from the institute have given me the professional outlook I needed. I am now internationally recognized for what I do which is an achievement in itself. -
Personal Training Certificate Program
I loved everything about the PT certificate program at AAPT! I was in Ciaran Cribbs class - an absolutely amazing instructor. I would like to say the BEST! I wholeheartedly believe that I could not have been in better hands and received better training than from him. He has a wealth of knowledge, brings it to his students in a serious, organized, understandable and interesting (and also entertaining) way and he has the hands on experience that helped us greatly to translate theory into real life. I looked forward to class each day and enjoyed every moment of the theoretical and practical portions of the course. As a new bee with little prior knowledge it was challenging but Ciaran was with us every step of the way and made sure that we understood, grasped and embodied not only the concepts but also the execution of the various forms that are part of personal training. I would and will highly recommend AAPT (and Ciaran) to anyone interested in Personal Training. -
Personal Training Certificate Program
The school is amazing and taught me a great deal. Switching careers from telesales to personal training is challenging, but the course definitely got me ready and up to speed. Now, I currently have a job at Equinox. -
Personal Training Certificate Program
I loved how hands on AAPT's program was. It allowed for opportunities to see where you made errors and fix them. All of the resources and people that are available to the students are endless. You get to experience trainers training their clients, ask questions and learn from others in person. My teacher was Tennille and she was very helpful as a teacher. She was very thorough and gave extra information that I think really helped alot. -

Improv Intensive for Professionals and Educators
This is a great and fun class! The instructor was very engaging and addressed our needs for coming to this class. My only critique is that this class should be at least a 5 weeks course since it takes time to cement and practice what we have learned. I had a lot of helpful take aways! -

Jill is amazing!! The class really helped me come out of my shell and made me more aware of how my inner dialogue affected my interactions with people on a daily basis. I highly recommend this course--I can't wait to take level 2!! -
Improv Intensive for Professionals and Educators
I greatly enjoyed this three-week improv course for professionals. This is not a course specifically designed to teach public speaking or presentation skills. And it's not a course in comedy improv. This is a course in which you play different games to train your brain to accept/respond to unexpected situations, embrace uncertainty/failure and communicate in a truly collaborative way. That being said, the games enabled a lot of funny moments, and the instructor ensured the classroom was a safe space, with no right or wrong script for any particular game. Highly recommend this course if you are looking to find ways to communicate more effectively in your personal or professional life, whether in private or public conversations. -

Improv Intensive for Professionals and Educators
I'm an intensely shy person and the teacher was so welcoming and level set every expectation. I felt so comfortable and excited about the tools provided, I lost my self-consciousness. That was the whole point of the program. It was fun and helped me gain more confidence. It definitely sparked my creativity! I highly recommend to everyone. -
Improv Intensive for Professionals and Educators
Jill was an amazing instructor! She pushed you to go past your comfort level and fully supported you at the same time. I learned a lot about improv and feel more confident with work and life stuff :0) -
Improv Intensive for Professionals and Educators
You'll benefit from this course if you've ever wanted to get better at responding to things that happen in the world around you. FORMAT Each class is built around a series of exercises that exercise your ability to think faster on your feet and respond better to situations happening around you. For example, one exercise tested how comfortable we were letting go of control; another made us feel extreme tension while barely moving; another showed us how bad we were at listening. Disclaimer: I'd imagine that as far as these exercises go, YMMV depending on your specific instructor and your classmates. WHAT DO YOU LEARN? I wouldn't think to include any "spoilers" for the exercises you'll be taken through but I -will- list 3 insights I took away from these classes. If any of these ideas sound interesting to you, you'll like this class. 1. Improv is about responding to the world around you. 2. The concept of "Yes, and" means accepting and elevating the situation that's presented to you. 3. Fully committing to what you're doing changes the way your audience sees it. HOW I FOUND THIS CLASS Before attending this workshop series, I attended the single-class Improv for Professionals workshop, also taught by The Engaging Educator staff, but held at The Brooklyn Brainery. What I learned there was intriguing enough for me to commit to this three-day session. ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK I would've liked this course even better if: - We could've been given/emailed a brief list of the exercises we worked on each class -- so we could either review on our own time (unlikely for most of us, I know) or at least jog our memories. I ended up emailing our instructor at the end of the course to send us what we did. - We spent a little more time after each exercise or group of exercises to discuss how these lessons might translate over to work and life. We did spend a little time at the start of each day and after certain exercises discussing this but I found that I learned the most after I took my own time to review what we'd learned. That's also why I'm investing the time to write what's probably an abnormally detailed review. - We had a way to keep in contact with our group. I'm writing to the instructor now to ask about the possibility of joining a Facebook group or such where "alumni" can continue the conversation and discussion. INSTRUCTOR Our instructor/facilitator Jill was extremely attentive, optimistic and great to work with. CLASSMATES My class of ~10 was made up of working folks of both genders, widely ranging ages and from all kinds of professions. No issues here! I'm already thinking about what to do next to improve at improv. Thanks Jill, Jen & CourseHorse! -
